PURPOSE:To regulate the aperture of a cover when a developing device is inclined significantly owing to maintenance, etc. and to prevent the leakage and scattering of a developer, by providing a member for regulating an opening operation to the cover of a replenishing port for the developer. CONSTITUTION:A developing device 3 is mounted to a openable and closable upper frame, and a cover 4 is freely openably and closably mounted to a shaft 7 in the replenishing port thereof for a developer. A lock arm 9 having a lock pin 10 is supported to the shaft 8. A guide groove 11 for the lock pin and an engaging groove 12 for the lock pin are provided to the side plate 14 of the device 3 and the pin 10 is inserted thereon. The opening or closing of the cover 4 is accomplished as the pin 10 moves along the groove 11. When the device 3 inclines significantly for the purpose of maintenance or the like, the pin 10 moves along the groove 12, thereby prohibiting the opening of the cover 4 and locking the developing device. The leakage and scattering of the developer are thus prevented. |
