PURPOSE:To continue efficiently processing for recording even when a jam arises, by controlling the operations of a guide and a conveyance roll according to the detection of recording sheets with various sensors and controlling the recording sheets. CONSTITUTION:A difference between a set number of sheets and the number of sheets contained in a relay tray 15 is stored as the number of sheets to be compensated when a jam arises during copying on the 1st side. The copying is started after the jammed paper is disposed, and the deficient number of the sheets is compensated in accordance with the stored number of sheets to be compensated, then the copying for the set number of sheets is carried out. The difference between the set number of sheets and the number of sheets discharged into a tray 24 or sorter B is stored as the number of the sheets to be compensated when a jam arises during copying on the 2nd side. All the sheets which remain in the tray 15 and are subjected to the copying on the one side are subjected to copying on the 2nd side and after these sheets are discharged, the copying paper of the number of sheets to be compensated for the number of the deficient sheets owing to the jam are subjected to copying of an original by the operation for the 1st side. Said paper are then subjected to the copying on the 2nd side, whereby the copying on both sides for the deficient number of sheets is completed. The control of the recording sheets in such a way is accomplished by controlling a guide and a conveyance roll according to the detection with the respective sensors. |
