The invention relates to a packaging tray made of a blank, in particular for liquid or powdery food, and consisting of a bottom wall and side walls which project therefrom and are connected in the corner regions by connecting portions and have edge flanges provided with extended parts which overlap one another in the folded state. Only one of the connecting portions in each case has an edge flange. The edge flange of the side wall which is adjoined by the connecting portion with the edge flange has a cutting line which separates the edge flange of the side wall from the edge flange of the connecting portion. The edge flange of the side wall which is adjoined by the connecting portion without an edge flange is of hooked design. When the blank has been folded and erected, the edge flanges in the corner regions lie one on top of the other in only two layers, the side edge of the extended part of the edge flange of the side wall abutting the side edge of the edge flange of the connecting portion. <IMAGE>
