In order, in a monitoring system for the working depth of the implements of agricultural soil-cultivating machines, to make the depth indication, formed by the activation of individual lights of a row of lights, smoother and to concentrate it on relevant indication values, the signals generated by an electrical measuring element, arranged between a ground-level sensing wheel and a soil-cultivating implement, are filtered out electrically to those values which relate essentially to the lower vertex of the oscillation curve generated as a result of the up-and-down movements of the ground-level sensing wheel. The working or penetration depth of the soil-cultivating implements is thereby measured and indicated essentially only as a function of the ground level corresponding to the lower vertices of the oscillation curve. <IMAGE>
