The invention relates to a device for displaying placards or the like. It is provided according to the invention that the device has an essentially horizontal cantilever beam and a placard holder which can be removed from the cantilever beam, and that the cantilever beam has fixing means for fixing to approximately perpendicular surfaces, such as walls, masonry, posts, trees or the like.
