Equipment for controlling the horizontal movement of a driven member as it traverses its support, so that elastic deformations in the support which arise during its traversal may be minimized or even eliminated, includes a torque circuit for regulating the electromechanical torque supplied by a drive element during acceleration, deceleration and braking; a regulating circuit for regulating the absolute speed of the mobile part of the driven member; a differential speed circuit for determining the difference between the absolute speed of the driven member mobile part and the speed of the drive element, and for modifying the torque instruction; and a shunting circuit comprising resistive and capacitive elements, for stabilizing the dynamic behaviour.
