Redox couple, liposoluble, capable of being used to initiate polymerization reactions in an inverse, water-in-oil, emulsion of water-soluble vinyl monomers which are reactive at temperatures in the region of 0 degree C, charactrized in that it consists of an organic hydroperoxide and thionyl chloride.
