Flotation purification of salts - using diamine salts as flotation collectors

Salt-bearing minerals and residual salts from their treatment which have a high concn of insoluble impurities, are purified by selective flotation of the insolubles in a soln. satd w.r.t. the soluble constituent(s), the flotation collector reagent being salts formed by HCl, acetic acid, or saturated or unsaturated C6-20 fatty acids, and R - NH - CH2 CH2 CH2 NH2, where R is a C8-20 aliphatic hydrocarbyl radical.
