PURPOSE:To uniform a recording density and to suppress overheating of a thermal head, by adjusting a pulse width in response to the black rate of recording information. CONSTITUTION:A pulse width of a recording pulse outputted to head driving transistors (TRs) Q1, Q2-Qn and a recording circuit are set initially, and a picture signal having a dot number in response to the width of one belt is inputted from a CPU to a picture signal control section C, then the recording pulse having a prescribed pulse width is outputted from the control section C to the TRs Q1-Qn. The control section C counts the number of black dots recorded at present during that time, and when the recording number of times reaches a preset number of times corresponding to the pulse width, the set value of the pulse width is reduced in recording the next picture information and the corresponding recording number of times is set newly. On the other hand, when the black dots are less, the set value of the next recording pulse width is increased and the corresponding number of recording times is set. |
