A compsn. for inhibiting corrosion of a ferrous or non-ferrous metal includes a crystalline metal polyphosphate. - The polyphosphate includes a polyvalent metal such as Sr, Ba, Zn or Cu, e.g. dizinc monosodium tripolyphosphate or pentastrontium tripolyphosphate (I), and can include Na or K. The compsn. includes a further source of zinc ions. The paint has a resin binder, e.g. an oleoresin, chlorinated rubber, epoxy, urethane, acrylic, alkyd, amino, vinyl or phenolic resin, a cellulosic polymer, polybutadiene or a water soluble resin. - The corrosion inhibitor is included in a paint compsn., e.g. a primer for vehicle bodies such as electropaint.(0/0) |
