Disclosed are copolyesters based on terephthalic acid, ethylene glycol and bis (4-.beta.-hydroxyethoxyphenyl) sulfone made by solid state polycondensation of a lower molecular weight polymer thereof, a process for making same, and containers, packages and packaging materials made therefrom.
