<p>PURPOSE:To easily produce steel products having a required sonic speed ratio by quantitatively expressing anisotropy by using the reduction ratios in respective stages of rolling and setting rolling conditions in a manner as to maintain the anisotropy within the determined requirements. CONSTITUTION:The acoustic anisotropic rolling index (ARI) expressed by the formula corresponding to the required sonic speed ratio is determined in the stage of producing the steel products having the required sonic speed ratio by a working and heat treatment process. The reduction ratios in the respective stages of the controlled rolling in the working and heat treating process is determined by such index and the steel products are subjected to the working and heat treatment at such reduction ratios.
