PURPOSE:To automate the latching and unlatching of casting flasks and to prevent the collapsion and deviation of the casting flasks against the variance in the casting flasks in the stage of latching and unlatching the same by providing plural pawls of the specific constitution to the forward end of an arm which is laterally and vertically movable, and providing position detectors to the top and bottom ends thereof. CONSTITUTION:A feeding device 13 (the same holds approximately true of a discharging device 14) which is movable laterally on a beam 12 is moved to above an empty casting mold stack 82. The pawls 5 provided at the forward end of the four arms 24 at the forward end of the turning arm 22 of the forward end arm 2 of a vertically movable bar 15 are opened by means of cylinders 4, and the bar 5 is lowered at a high speed. The former of limit switches 71, 72 contacts with the mold 80 to detect that the pawls 5 exist in the position right above the mold 80, then the lowering speed is decreased. The latter detects the substantial downward movement of the pawls 5, then the pawls 5 are closed, the downward movement of the arm 2 is stopped and the mold 80 is engaged with hooks 51. If the positional accuracy of the stack 82 is poor, it is also possible to close the pawls 5 by means of springs 6 in place of the cylinders 4 and operating the cylinders 4 after disconnecting the mold 80 from the stack. Since the pins 50 for supporting the pawls 5 are on the inner circumferential side than the hooks 51, the mold 80 is gripped by the own weight. |
