PURPOSE:To compound easily a latent image made by light image irradiation and a latent image made by a pin electrode by giving amount of charge corresponding to light and shade parts of light image obtained by light irradiation to form the first electrostatic latent image and further recording the second electrostatic latent image by discharging by the pin electrode. CONSTITUTION:Picture exposure is performed on a screen drum SD 2-2 and an electrostatic primary latent image is formed. Then, an insulating drum ID 2-1 is rotated conforming to rotation of the SD 2-2, and the primary latent image on the surface of SD 2-2 is ion modulated on the ID 2-1 by a D electrostatic charger 2-10, and a secondary latent image is formed. At thie time, a positive electrode corresponding to shade P i.e. black part in the original, is discharged, and positive electrode of light part Q remains on the ID 2-1. By impressing negative pulse voltage to a multistylus 2-3, the charge of light part of the original is discharged, and an electrostatic latent image made by compounding an analog picture formed by light image and a digital picture formed by the multistylus 2-3 is formed on ID 2-1. |
