PURPOSE:To have accurate discrimination of marks from printed parts by knowing the sheet running amounts while such objects to be sensed as mark elements contamination due to printing, etc. are sensed and while no output is given by the sensor and thereby checking the width of each mark element and the one of the interval. CONSTITUTION:Objects to be sensed such as mark elements with specified width and contaminations due to printing are sensed by a sensor 5, and a mark element width discriminator 9 will emit a correspondence signal only when the running amount during this sensing informed by a running amount sensor 6 lies within the set range in correspondence to the width of mark element. On the other hand, a marking interval width discriminator 11 emits an incorrespondence signal only when the running amount while the sensor 5 gives no output, informed by the abovementioned running amount sensor 6, does not lie within the set range in correspondence to the width of marking interval. This emission of incorrespondence signal will actuate anew the counting of correspondence signals from the discriminator 9, and when the count attains the number of mark elements, a number-of-mark elements discriminator 13 shall output a mark sensing signal to refrain from sensing contaminations as a mark. |
