PURPOSE:To prepare a crystalline silicate effective as a catalyst for various chemical reactions, in high efficiency, by reacting an aqueous mixture containing a silica source, an alumina source, an alkali metal source and ethylene glycol at specific ratios, at a high temperature. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous mixture containing a silica source, an alumina source, an alkali or alkaline earth metal source and ethylene glycol at the molar ratios of represented by formulas I , II, III and IV (excepting the hydroxyl ion from organic base), is made to react at 100-300 deg.C until crystalline silicate is formed. The obtained crystalline silicate is calcined in air at 550 deg.C to obtain a composition having the molar ratios of formula V (M is alkali and/or alkaline earth metal; n is atomic valence of M; 0.3<=p<=3.0: q>=10). The X-ray diffraction pattern of the product is shown in the table. |
