摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a titled converter which yields always an adequate RX gas, by providing means for detecting the temp. of the gaseous mixture just prior to admission into the catalyst bed in a reaction tube and controlling the supply rate of a refrigerant to a cooler provided in the outside circumferential part of the reaction tube. CONSTITUTION:A cooler 4 is provided on the outside circumferential surface of a reaction tube 2 in a heat treatment furnace 1 or the like. A thermocouple 2 or the like is provided just before the catalyst-packed part 21 of the tube 2 to detect the temp. of a gaseous temp. The gaseous temp. is transmitted to a control circuit 6, which compares the same with a set temp. and feeds a control signal to a solenoid stop valve or throttle valve in the supply system for the gaseous mixture thereby regulating the supply rate of gaseous nitrogen or the like to the cooler 4. The gaseous mixture kept always in a specified temp. range is introduced into the catalyst bed by the above-mentioned device, whereby the conversion of the RX gas is adequately accomplished.
