PURPOSE:To make it possible to directly use a motor vehicle as a sailing engine, by arranging, in a motor vehicle carrying ship, a propeller which is assosiated with and rotated by the drive wheels of the motor vehicle and an operating mechanism which is associated with and actuated by the front wheels of the motor vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A motor car A is driven into a carrier ship 1 and then is stopped and secured in a position where the front wheels C of the motor vehicle A are set at the holding part 14 of a rotary plate 12 and the rear wheels B or drive wheels of the motor vehicle are set on rollers 6, 7. In this condition, when the rear wheels B are rotated by operating an accelerator, the roller 6 is rotated to drive a propeller 11 through a gear mechanism 8 and a flexible joint 9 for making the carrier ship move back and forth. Further, when the front wheels C are steered by means of the steering handle of the motor vehicle, the rotary plate 12 is rotated in accordance with the direction of the front wheels 12 to operate a rudder through a linkage mechanism 16 and gear mechanisms 18, 19 for controlling the carrier ship 1. Thus, the motor vehicle may be directly used as a sailing engine, and as well, a carried cargo on the motor vehicle may be transported without transshipment. |
