PURPOSE:In an outside rearview mirror mounted on a vehicle door or the like, to prevent the housing of the mirror from bumping against a door panel etc. at the time of collision, by providing a front and a rear rotary shafts which support the housing and by placing the shafts in such a manner that they make a form of ? as they are seen sidewards. CONSTITUTION:The housing 13 of an outside rearview mirror is attached by a coupling section 16 to a base 14 secured on the front corner plate 5a of the side window of an automobile. The coupling section 16 comprises coupling elements 13a-13d protruded at the end of the housing 13 on the side of the base 14, coupling elements 14a-14d for the base 14, and coupling pins 19 which connect the coupling elements 13a-13d to those 14a-14d. A rear and a front rotary shafts RS, FS for turning the housing 13 backard and rearward as to the vehicle are constituted by fitting the coupling elements 13a, 13b with the corresponding coupling pins 19 and fitting the coupling elements 13c, 13d with the corresponding coupling pins 19. The rotary shafts RS, FS are placed in such a manner that they make a form of ? as they are seen sidewards as to the vehicle. |
