<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a low-temperature liquid from producing any effect on the environments even when it is leaked out, by a method wherein an annular nozzle pipe is provided at a lower part of the space between a side cold insulant and an inner tank, and a pump for supplying liquid nitrogen is connected to the nozzle pipe. CONSTITUTION:An annular nozzle pipe 19 is provided at the lower part of the space 12 between a side cold insulant 6 and an inner tank 10, pumps 23, 27 for supplying liquid nitrogen from a liquid nitrogen source 21 are connected to the pipe 19, a low-temperature liquid detector 29 is provided at a lower part of the space 12, and the pumps 23, 27 are operated by a signal from the detector 29. Even if a low-temperature liquid is unexpectedly leaked from the interior of the inner tank 10 to the space 12, the pumps 23, 27 are operated by the signal from the detector 29, and liquid nitrogen is supplied into the space 12, so that liquid nitrogen is preferentially evaporated, thereby preventing the low-temperature liquid from being evaporated. Accordingly, even when the low-temperature liquid is leaked out, it does not cause any disaster nor produce any malacious effects on the environments.</p> |
