PURPOSE:To obtain a thrust bearing which is not damaged even in the event that a spindle is placed under external distrubance, by supporting a spacer by a roller bearing by touching the spacer to an end face of the spindle slidably. CONSTITUTION:A spacer 7 having a conical slide bearing face 5 is touched to an end face of a spindle 1 supported by a journal bearing 3 which is a gas bearing, and the spacer 7 is supported by a seat 8 secured to a main body 13 through a ball 6 rolling within a groove 9. A ratio of relative numbers of revolutions of a space between the spacer and the seat 8 corresponding to a space between the spindle 1 and the spacer 7 becomes 100:1000 and a thrust load of the spindle 1 is supported by turning respective thrust bearing elements while keeping this relation on. The spindle 1 can be prevented from sidewise rolling by making contact face between the spindle and the spacer 7 into the conical slide bearing face 5. |
