The present invention relates to a novel exhaust system for vehicles. This exhaust with high vertical discharge is characterised in that it comprises in combination: a pipe for connection to the exhaust silencer of the vehicle, at least one substantially vertical tubular structure 4 connected to the abovementioned connection pipe by any suitable means, and a device for supporting the assembly consisting of the connecting pipe and of the vertical tubular structure or structures and for fastening this assembly to the chassis of the vehicle 17. The invention is used on exhausts of motor vehicles and more particularly on heavy-goods vehicles. <IMAGE>
