PURPOSE:To generate an alarm when an automobile enters a dangerous inter-vehicle distance by mounting a photoelectrical twin image coincidence type rangefinder in the position where the visual field is forward, coupling said rangefinder and an electronic device consisting of an oscillation circuit, counter circuit, A/D conversion circuit, etc., converting the resulted distance and speed to voltages and comparing the same. CONSTITUTION:When a motor 5 is driven, a cam 6 is transmitted to a scan lever 4, and a movable mirror 2 scans. The scan signal is detected with detectors 8-10, and is converted to a voltage with a counter circuit, oscillation circuit, A/D converter, etc. The coincidence signal obtd. from the photoelectric element of a photoelectrical twin image coincidence type rangefinder is inputted to a counting stop circuit. The point of the time when the count circuit is stopped is the object distance and is a voltage. The respective voltages of such distance and speed are inputted to a comparator, and when the voltage of the distance is higher than the voltage of the speed, the vehicle is in a safe range and no outputs are emitted from the comparator. On the other hand, when the voltage of the distance is smaller than the voltage of the speed, the vehicle is decided to be in a dangerous inter-vehicle distance, and an output is produced from the comparator. As a result, an alarm is generated when the vehicle enters the dangerous inter-vehicle distance. |
