PURPOSE:To take easily and speedily a quantitative measurement of a specific material in a liquid sample, by electrochemically detecting the reaction product of a sample diffused from a development layer to a reagent layer and a sample in the reagent layer. CONSTITUTION:The reagent layer 3 holding a reagent on a carrier is formed on a reaction unit substrate 4 made of a bad conductor and the development layer which develops a reagent with specific density uniformly is laminated thereupon while a diaphragm 2 such as semipermeable membrance is interposed when necessary. When an electrode part 6 is inserted into the electrode insertion hole 5 of the substrate 4, the projecting electrode enters into the reagent layer 3 to detect electrochemically the reaction product of the sample diffused from the development layer 1 to the reagent layer 3 and the sample in the reagent layer 3. A detected current from the electrode part 6 is sent to an arithmetic part 10 through an amplifier 8 to calculate the density of the specific component in the sample. Therefore, the specific material in the liquid material is measured quantitatively easily and speedily. |
