The device for the production of a tendon butt suture comprises a tension means with two tension-means ends and blocking means. The tension means can be inserted with one tension-means end in the manner of a needle and overbridging the butt point in one of the tendon stumps to be connected and can be guided back out of the other tendon stump. One of the tension-means ends is provided with a rigid blocking means, and another blocking means can be connected to the free tension-means end. Both blocking means are designed as multi-arm anchors having a central tension-means receptacle for the tension means and anchor arms bent towards the tendon. The tension means is made as a wire rope of a multiplicity of thin threads. At least the multi-arm anchor connectable to the free tension-means end can be fixed on the tension means by a pressure connection, for example by clamping with forceps. <IMAGE>
