PURPOSE:To ensure a simple countermeasure even to a change of a variable pattern code, by setting a variable pattern code necessary for reception of emergency broadcast with an interchangeable cartridge. CONSTITUTION:An emergency broadcast contains a specific pattern code in a signal. A radio or TV set for receiving the emergency broadcast decodes the pattern code with a built-in decoder and delivers an alarm when it detects a pattern code of the emergency broadcast. The pattern code is written in an ROM and incorporated into a cartridge 13. It is impossible for general users to read the contents of the ROM. The user can simply change the pattern code by exchanging the ROM together with the cartridge. |
