Gas-pressure damper of two-tube, telescopic construction

In the case of a two-tube gas-pressure damper, it is intended to make filling with gas possible at atmospheric pressure, a cost-effective seal which is of axially short construction ensuring safe filling with gas. In order to achieve this object, a combined sealing unit is created which consists of a piston rod seal and a gas seal, is centred in the piston rod guide and is firmly clamped in axially between the enveloping tube [sic]. The seal between the piston rod guide and the enveloping tube is formed by an O-ring, a first sealing lip of the gas seal operating as a gas block and a second sealing lip of the gas seal operating as an oil-communication block. <IMAGE>
