The arm-operated drive device acts on the front wheel. It is composed of two parallel guides (56) on which the handles (4) which serve for driving and for simultaneously stirring are guided. The said invention is also composed of a shaft (6) with chain wheel (2) which drives the front wheel (16) with freewheeling via a chain (15). The shaft (6) is connected to the handles (4) via the cranks (3) and the connecting rods (9). In addition, in each case a device for overcoming the dead centre and a further device for preventing the chain wheel (2) turning backwards are present. The drive device serves for applying the force of arms into the front wheel in such a way that in this way a rotational moment about the steering axle (1) is prevented.
