PURPOSE:To improve discharge performance also in the heavy load discharge, by a method wherein punching metal made of a stainless steel not less than 230 in Vickers hardness is used as a collector on the side of the negative pole, while contact resistance of the punching metal is reduced by making it to strongly touch the inside peripheral surface of a battery case by means of the strong repulsive force of the punching metal when it is wound round spirally. CONSTITUTION:One end of a collector 3 on the negative pole made of punching metal of stainless steel not less than 230 in Vickers hardness is spot-welded to a collector rod 8 made of stainless steel. A lithium plate 2 is sticked under pressure to the collector 3 in this state in order to form the negative pole plate 1, said negative pole plate 1 is overlapped by the positive pole plate 4 formed by making the collector 6 made of weld mesh of stainless steel to hold the positive pole black mixture 4 and wrapped by a separator 7 consisting of polypropylene non woven fabric, and the negative pole plate 1 and the positive pole plate 4 are spirally wound centering around the collector rod 8 on its periphery while the whole thereof is housed in an inside can 9 of stainless steel.
