Apertures arranged as smoke and heat outlets in building walls (1) are normally closed off by means of wing parts (2, 3), the closing position of which is secured by means of conventional window fittings. In the event of fire, the wing parts (2 and 3) are opened automatically by a driver (11), which has a remote-controllable drive (16), pressing against a lever arm (10) located on the wing part (2, 3) and switching said lever arm. The lever arm (10) thereby actuates a conventional regulating mechanism (9) which is coupled in driving terms to movable locking pins (5, 6) arranged on the wing part (2, 3). <IMAGE>
