摘要 The invention relates to a power transmission element for continuously variable transmissions formed by axially adjustable cone pulleys and such a transmission element. It is the object of the invention, using "dry frictional engagement" between the cone pulleys and the transmission element, to achieve a considerable increase in the power loading and life of the latter. Provided in an endless V-belt (10, 11, 20) is a continuous circumferential cavity, the chain groove (30), in which an endless flat-link articulated chain (50, 60) is accommodated. The V-belt is made up of rigid transverse elements (10, 11) and of flexible elements (20) (soft rubber) at uniform pitch and of hermetically sealed construction, and a flexible cover strip (70) is provided as a closure at the outer circumference. The cavity (30) is completely filled with a lubricant. The chain links are positively connected to the transverse elements. The flank legs (11) of the transverse elements are provided with a friction facing of optimum abrasion resistance. The advantage is that all elements participating in the transmission of power can be designed in the optimum manner in accordance with their specific function. <IMAGE>
