In order to print forms (F) by means of a word processing station which is composed of a keyboard (TA) for inputting characters and a printer (D) and a display device (A), marks (M) whose coordinates are stored are input on the display device (A) and the points corresponding to the coordinates are assigned on the form (F). In order to enter these marks (M), a printing point indicator (SCH) of the display device (A) and a printing carriage of the printer (D) carry out a synchronous movement so that the printing point indicator (SCH) points to a printing point with the same coordinates which are also assumed by the printing carriage in relation to the form (F) to be printed. The marks (M) are each set at the start and/or end of a variable field (VF) to be written on and are not printed during the printing out of the characters on the form (F) itself.
