PURPOSE:To perform a test of a packet terminal without exerting evil effect on a packet network under operation due to an abnormal operation of the packet terminal to be tested, by setting additional devices among the packet terminal, a tester, and the packet network. CONSTITUTION:Additional devices 3 and 4 set an intra-network communication line 8 on a packet network 5 prior to test. A tester 2 transmits a prescribed frame to the device 4 as a test data via the line 8, and the device 4 extracts a test data out of the received frame and then edits the frame to send it to the network 5. The transmitted packet is fed to the device 3 through the line 8. The device 3 extracts the test data out of the packet and edits a frame to transmit it to a packet terminal 1 to be tested. In such a way, the data transmitted from the tester 2 is transmitted to the terminal 1 with no change. The terminal 1 performs the processing corresponding to the test data, and a response is sent back to the tester 2 in the form of a test data. |
