A reinforced concrete building element for planar slatted floors having a downwardly tapering cross-section is used, when joining together a plurality of elements, to construct a slatted floor having a plurality of downwardly widening liquid manure gaps (2). The building element (1) can have the shape of beams or grates and is provided, immediately below the standing surface (13), with lateral dung break-off edges (12) to avoid deposits of dung. For effectively preventing the wetting of the side faces (3) of the building element (1), in particular in the lower zone subjected to tension, with liquid manure as a result of the latter flowing down on the side faces and hence decompositions as a result of the liquid penetrating into the hairline cracks arising there, the building element has an undercut drip edge (5) along the side faces (3) in the vicinity of the neutral fibre (40). The liquid drips off this drip edge (5) under the effect of gravity. <IMAGE>
