<p>Dibenzocycloheptenones (2) [R1,R2 independently=C1-C5 alkyl, C2C5 alkenyl, phenylalkyl, C3-C6 cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl; R3=h halo were converted to the resp. endoimines (1) in two series of reactions; the (1) are useful as muscle relaxants and in the treatment of anxiety and parkinsonism. (2) [R1=R3=H was reacted with NH3 in phMe contg. TiCl4, the imine product was N-tosylated, the N-tosylimine was treated with MeLi to give the 5-methyl-5-tosylamine deriv., and the latter was heated with KOH in diglyme, with subsequent acid hydrolysis, to give (1) [R1=R3=H, R2=Me .</p> |
