The weather strip (1) comprises an anchoring section (2) of elastometric material having a channel section intended to be fitted to the edge (6) of an opening or closure element for the body of a motor vehicle, which edge (6) has portions (6a, 6b, 6c) of different thicknesses. The anchoring section (2) has longitudinal retaining tabs (4) on the facing surfaces of the channel section in order to allow the fitting of the weather strip (1) to the edge (6) and to prevent its detachment. In the portions of the weather strip (l) which are intended to be fitted to those portions (6c) of the edge (6) of the opening or closure element of greater thickness, the longitudinal retaining tabs (4) have a transverse dimension which is reduced to an extent dependent on the thickness of the edge. This reduction in the transverse dimension of the tabs (4) is achieved during the extrusion of the weather strip (1). The invention also relates to an extrusion head provided with a shutter arranged to reduce the transverse dimension of the retaining tabs (4) of the anchoring section (2) during the extrusion. <IMAGE> |
