<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium of a ferromagnetic thin metallic film type having excellent traveling stability and durability by providing successively a nonmagnetic thin film layer contg. a rust preventive, a ferromagnetic thin film layer, and a lubricant layer on a nonmagnetic substrate. CONSTITUTION:A substrate film produced by adding a rust preventives to a thin resin film layer or by forming a nonmagnetic thin film layer contg. a rust preventive freshly on the surface of a film having such thin resin film is prepared, and a ferromagnetic thin metallic film layer and a lubricant layer are successively formed thereon. Plastic films such as a polyester film, polyamide film, polyimide film or the like, metallic sheets such as an aluminum sheet, stainless sheet or the like and inorg. sheets such as a glass sheet, ceramic sheet or the like are used generally as the nonmagnetic substrate. Thin resin films incorporated therein with various rust preventives porous thin films incorporated with rust preventives in holes (for example, porous nonmagnetic metallic plating films, porous thin ceramic films, etc.) are usable as the nonmagnetic thin film layer contg. a rust preventives. The ferromagnetic thin metallic film is formed by forming iron, cobalt, nickel or an alloy consisting essentially thereof directly or via a nonmagnetic thin underlying film like a thin film on the substrate by vacuum deposition, ion plating, sputtering or the like.</p> |
