PURPOSE:To reduce the sensible heat of a vessel of the heat exchanger and prevent minute deflection of the heat exchanger by inserting assembling and fastening rods utilizing through holes during laminating and assembling operations of the heat exchanger by providing through holes at the same positions of working substance accommodating members, heat transfer medium flowpath members and diaphragm flat plates. CONSTITUTION:Holes 18 through which are penetrated comb-tooth shaped tip ends are formed on each of working substance accommodating plates 17 having comb-tooth shaped slitted portions 13 for accommodating therein working substances, a cutout portion 14 used as a header for a working gas and cutout portions 15 and 16 used as headers of a heat transfer medium. In each of flowpath portions 20 communicating unit cutout portions 15 and 16 of the flat plate 17, through holes 18 having the same dimension and configuration as those formed in the flat plate 17, are formed at the same positions as those of the flat plate 17. Further, at a diaphragm plate 21 used as a diaphragm between a working substance accommodating member formed by overlapping a plurality of working substance accommodating flat plates 17 and the transfer medium flowpath member 20, through holes 18 having the same dimension and configuration as those of the flat plate 17 are formed at the same positions joined to the through holes 18 of the flat plate 17. Therefore, by inserting rods through the through holes, it is possible to prevent poor joining due to displacement.
