Sealant and adhesive compositions

A sealant composition particularly suitable for vehicle tyres comprises a curable butyl rubber and one or more tackifiers, the tensile strength, elongation and cross-link density of the composition being adjusted to produce the necessary properties for tyre sealants. The composition may also be adapted for use in adhesive products for use in connection with membrane roofing materials. The composition may also include carbon black, zinc oxide, a sulphur component and a conventional cross-linking agent and activator.
