PURPOSE:To provide a tool replacer magazine with simple construction, which does not require any spcially designed indexing device, by furnishing a location mechanism and a tool retaining machine in which indexing of the magazine is driven by operation of the spindle. CONSTITUTION:A replacer tool magazine 5 is fitted on a pallet F and transported to the center of spindle. The spindle with opened chuck operates in the direction of Z axis to grasp a new tool 3 in a tool retaining mechanism 13. When it operates at the next stage in the direction of Y axis, the pawl opens to get rid of the new tool. The spindle attains the tool replacement position, and when the replacement arm fits the used tool on the spindle, the pawl of the retaining mechanism is restituted and in which the tool is fitted. When the spindle thereafter operates in the direction of Z axis, single bodies of magazines 7, 8 are moved toward the center shaft 11 against the action of a spring 2, and a fixed pin 23 is drawn off from the fixation hole 24a to allow the magazines 7, 8 to rotate freely in the circumferential direction. Now rotational indexing will take place. |
