PURPOSE:To simplify the operation of an ECR and to prevent the leakage of data, by using a key owned by each cashier to set a normal mode of the ECR and using a special key to set a mutual transmission mode for data to other ECRs. CONSTITUTION:Keys A-E owned by each cashier are inserted to a cashier input part 4, and a normal mode is set through a mode key input part 3 for inspection, registration and setting respectively. Then the numeric value is supplied 1, and a function is designated 2. This designated function is transmitted to a CPU6 via a key encoder 5 and a key discriminating circuit 7 as well as to a key input detecting circuit 8. When the key input is detected 8, the data of a mode data storage part 9 and a cashier data storage part 10 are fed to the CPU6 to perform the normal processing. A data transmission (IRC) mode to other ECRs is immediately set with insertion of a special key M, and this IRC mode is released by pulling out the key M. This facilitate setting of the IRC mode and at the same time limits the number of key owners to prevent the leakage of data. |
