PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetometer miniaturized without being affected by the magnetic parts of a signal processing part, by a method wherein the signal processing part is divided into magnetically equivalent blocks which are, in turn, arranged at symmetric positions around a magnetic responsive element. CONSTITUTION:A signal processing part is divided into six equivalent magnetic blocks which are, in turn, arranged to points on an axis X, an axis Y and an axis Z equally spaced apart from the center 0 of magnetic sensitivity elements (a), (b), (c) in spaced apart relationship with each other so as to be capable of neglecting mutual magnetic influence. Magnetic fields due to the presence of the magnetic blocks 1, 2,...6 are applied to the magnetic sensitivity elements (a), (b), (c) so as to be mutually set off to remove magnetic fields due to the influence and only a magnetic field to be measured from the outside is applied to perform the accurate measurement of the magnetic field. Because an electronic circuit including a recording apparatus, a battery or the like can be arranged in a spherical container availably used in deep-sea along with the signal treating part in a block form, a miniaturized sea bottom magnetometer is obtained. |
