PURPOSE:To make thin the thickness of a wiper arm in the part in the vicinity of a swing shaft of a spring guide, by positioning the center action line of a coil spring on the side of a windshield surface rather than on the side of the swing shaft. CONSTITUTION:A spring guide 8 is pivotally supported by a swing shaft 7 of an arm head 2 at a position offset from the swing shaft 4. A compression spring 9 is disposed between the guide 8 and a retainer 6. At this time, the center action line 9A of the spring 9 is positioned on the side of a windshield surface rather than on the side of the swing shaft of the above-mentioned guide 8. Accordingly, moment force due to the offset of the center action line of the spring 9 is applied to the retainer 6 so that a wiper blade is pressed against the windshield surface. Therefore, an offset amount in the swinging amount of the above-mentioned guide 8 may be made small so that the thickness of a wiper arm in the part in the vicinity of the swing shaft may be made thin. Further, a supporting member 10 limits the swinging motion of the above-mentioned guide 8 toward the windshield surface below a predetermined value. |
