PURPOSE:To restrain the direct affection of light for making a display easy to see, by directing a light guide inlet for guiding ambient light to the rear surface of a liquid crystal display panel, in the horizontal direction orthogonal to the direction of a windshield. CONSTITUTION:An ambient light guide inlet 13 is directed in the horizontal direction orthogonal to the direction of a windshield 6. Light in the daytime entering through a light guide inlet 13 emanates from a light guide outlet by being irregularly reflected by a V-shaped reflecting surface 10a, to pass and illuminate a display panel 2. When an illumination light source 4 is lit on in the night time, the light 4a is irregularly reflected on the V-shaped reflecting surface 10a and is separated into light 4b coming out from the light guide inlet 13 to the outside and illuminating light 4c directing the display panel 2. The light 4b coming out to the outside does not impinge against the windshield 6, and therefore, it reflects on the windshield 6 to prevent the light from hindering the driving of a motor vehicle. |
