PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for making copy, by making an arrangement that, when the preparatory operation which is indispensable before actual recording operation is started is detected, the rotary polyhedral mirror of a laser printer is started and its constant high-speed rotation is realized as quickly as possible. CONSTITUTION:Laser beams from a laser unit 1 are deflected by a rotary polyhedral mirror 2 which is driven by a motor 3 and a photosensitive drum 5 is scanned by the laser beams along its cylindrical generating line through a lens system 4, and thus, a latent image is formed on the photosensitive body along with the rotation of the drum 5. When a press type sensor 7 installed in the vicinity of the opening/closing shaft of a press-contacting plate 6 detects a preparatory operation, for example, opening of the press-contacting body 6, the rotary polyhedral mirror 2 is started and made to rotate and, at the same time, an original 10 is put on an original placing table 9 and the press-contacting plate 6 is closed. Furthermore, when other preparatory operations, such as setting of number of copies, etc., are performed, a copy start button is pressed. When the button is pressed, the rotary polyhedral mirror already reaches its constant rotating speed and, therefore, fast copying can be performed quickly. |
