发明名称 DECARBURIZING METHOD OF IRON AND STEEL
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To progress gently decarburization reaction and to improve the yield of iron and steel products by electrolyzing the melt of pig iron or steel with said melt as cathode and the molten flux consisting of >=1 kind of alkaline earth metallic salts incorporated onto the melt as anode. CONSTITUTION:Iron or steel is electrolyzed with the melt thereof as cathode and a molten flux as anode in decarburizing the iron or steel. The salts of Ca, Mg, and Ba in the molten flux are reduced respectively to metallic Ca, metallic Mg and metallic Ba by the above-mentioned electrolysis. These salts are accumulated at the boundary of the molten metal and the flux and are further caused to react with C in the molten metal as shown by the formulas. The temp. of the flux in this case is preferably lower by 100-200 deg.C than the temp. of the molten metal and in a molten state as a rule. The fluxes of CaO-CaF2, CaO-CaCl2, etc. are more preferable as the flux for the above-mentioned purpose. The low m.p. flux consisting of the above-mentioned flux incorporated with NaCl, NaF, etc. according to need is also satisfactory.</p>
