PURPOSE:To automatize insertion and assembling of the turning shaft of a motor for driving a propeller fan, by employing such an arrangement that a plurality of stepped portions in the form of a recess or a projection, formed in the front end face of the boss of the fan concentrically around the center of rotation of the fan, are clamped by a chuck of an automatic assembling machine. CONSTITUTION:The front end face of a fan boss 9 is shaped in the form of a flat surface, in which a plurality of stepped portions, for instance, four square- shaped recesses 12 are formed equidistantly along the circumference of a circle concentrical with the center hole 11 formed in said flat end face for connecting the turning shaft 6 of a motor. On the other hand, a shaft inserting machine 13 constituting a part of an automatic propeller fan assembling machine disposed in an assembly line includes a control motor 15, an oscillating arm 17 moved in a vertical direction by the turning force applied from the control motor 15 via a driven shaft 16 and a chuck 18 attached to the top of said oscillating arm 17 so that it can be opened and closed laterally. With such an arrangement, the turning shaft 6 of the motor can be inserted into the center hole 11 by clamping the stepped portions 12 of the fan boss 9 by means of the chuck 18. |
