PURPOSE:To reduce shock sound, prevent the occurrence of a slip, and decrease heat-generation and wear, by coupling the synchronized transmitting function of a geared belt with the function of the running direction stability of a V-belt. CONSTITUTION:Since the air, being present between gears at the time when a belt 1 makes contact with a pulley 2, flows out properly, through a V-recess 14, a shock sound due to a compressed air is reduced to the minimum. The belt 1 runs in a condition in that the V-recess 14, formed along the running direction of the belt, engages with a rib 24 provided on a pulley 2, in a direction, perpendicular to a pulley rotary axles 0, and thereby the belt 1 is driven in a condition to maintain a correct running direction without zigzagging or slipping. Because of neither zigzag nor sideslip while the belt 1 is running, any wasteful wear between the belt and the pulley 2 does not occur, and thereby heat-generation and wear of the belt are sharply reduced. The belt 1 engages with the pulley 2 with the aid of V-recesses 14 in addition to gears 13 and gear bottoms 15, whereby the area where the belt makes contact with the pulley 2 is substantially widened as the whole, and the contact pressure exerted on the belt 1 by the pulley 2 is decreased per unit contact area, resulting in improving resistance to wear of the belt 1. |
