PURPOSE:To attain the processing such as mixing and synthesis, by controlling analogically a chrominance signal converted from a video signal for delay and converting the delay signal into the video signal with synthesis for delaying inexpensively a color video signal. CONSTITUTION:The color video signal is converted into a chrominance signal at a chroma decoder circuit 2 and delayed at a shift register 3 for a time decided by a timing generator 4. The generator 4 generates a sample clock phiB and a shift clock phiA with a CCD delay line and the amount of delay is changed by changing the clocks. The amount of delay decided with a variable frequency oscillator is a control signal of a switcher 5 on the basis of a horizontal synchronizing signal 8. The decoded chrominance signal is subjected to the processing such as synthesis and switching at the switcher 5 to obtain a color video signal processed for delay at a color encoder circuit 6.
