PURPOSE:To replace pages efficiently, by informing the page replacing method of a buffer in accordance with an access pattern to a data base from a data base controlling system or an execution program. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with a page replacement controlling mode specified by an execution program 1, an oldest or newest reference page replacement controlling part 4 or 5 receives the page No. and address and accesses a buffer controlling part 6. Receiving said address, the controlling part 6 returns data stored in a primary storage buffer through the controlling part 4 or 5 to an input/output request accepting part 3 when a page to be referred is stored in the primary storage buffer. If the page to be referred is not stored in the buffer, one page of the buffer is replaced by a page to be referred in a secondary storage data base. Then, one page of the buffer selected by the controlling part 4 or 5 is the page which is an object to be replaced. The page to be referred is transferred from the data base 7 to the buffer 6 and the data of the buffer 6 are transferred to the data accepting part 3. Receiving the data of the program 1, the accepting part 3 transfers the received data to the area of the program 1 to complete the input operation. |
